SINGLE-CAR CRASH KILLS MAN, 30

A Roanoke County man was killed early Monday when a car he was driving overturned and caught on fire within two blocks of his home.

Kevin A. Hancock, 30, of Village Lane, died in the accident, according to Roanoke County police.

Police said the accident happened about 1:30 a.m. at Plantation Road and Magnolia Road. A sport/utility vehicle driven by Hancock ran off the road and into a ditch, where it overturned and caught on fire.

Hancock was wearing a seat belt, police said, and there was no indication that excessive speed was involved in the accident.
