SCHOLASTIC SPORTS NRV: Dublin won the annual middle-school battle of Pulaski County, beating Pulaski 24-18 last week at Soldiers Field in Dublin. Dublin rallied from an 12-8 deficit in the last four minutes for the win.

The Dukes linebacker duo of JEREMY MARION and PHILLIP RUPPRECHT started the rally by tackling Pulaski running back DOMINIC BROWN for a safety.

Two plays after the free kick, DORIAN HENDRICKS scored on a four-yard quarterback sneak, putting the Dukes in front for good.

BEN KING put the game out of reach when he scooped up a fumble and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown, making the score 24-18.

The Orioles' Brown scored on a 63-yard dash as time expired. He finished the game with 150 yards rushing.

"We played hard and didn't give up," said Dublin coach RICHARD LEWIS. "It was a great comeback. Our lines played good, better than they have all year. And our backs gained a lot of yardage on second and third efforts."

Dublin improved to 3-2, while Pulaski fell to 2-3.

OFF TO THE RACES: It's already time to start planning for the 1995 racing season.
