DEBRIS CLEANUP URGED DURING LAKE LOWERING

The Friends of Claytor Lake are urging landowners around the lake to clean up shoreline debris next month when the water level is lowered.

Appalachian Power Co. will lower the level by five feet from Nov. 5 to Nov. 20.

The Friends organization is composed of people with homes near the lake or interest in keeping it clean and protected.

Interested people are welcome at its monthly meetings. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Shop-Eez store.
