Trickle, who celebrates his 53rd birthday today, is winless since joining the series fulltime in 1989, when he was rookie of the year. His first Winston Cup start was in 1970.
``It's the big one,'' Trickle said. ``Guys go fishing forever looking for the big one and I just got it.''
The Wisconsin native, who now makes his home in Iron Station, N.C., said he was excited about the well-financed ride, adding, ``The team is bound to accelerate. The fact that they've got me shows that they're making the right decision.''
The deal was signed about 4 p. m. Wednesday and afterward Moore said: ``We've got a driver. We're really pleased to have a driver of his caliber. We are thrilled.''
Trickle replaces Lake Speed, who is seeking other opportunities for 1995.
