REPORTED EARNINGS

Carmike Cinemas Inc., Columbus, Ga., operator of movie theaters in Roanoke and Salem, reported third-quarter net income of $10.3 million, or $1.25 per share, on revenues of $109 million, compared with year-earlier $7.3 million, or 90 cents, on revenues of $82.4 million. For the nine months, income was $13.6 million, or $1.65 per share, on revenues of $244.5 million, compared with $10.1 million, or $1.28 per share, on $176.4 million.

Georgia Bonded Fibers

Georgia Bonded Fibers Inc., Newark, N.J., operator of a fiberboard and foam products plant in Buena Vista, reported a first-quarter net loss of $252,000, or 16 cents per share, on sales of $11 million, compared with year-earlier income of $221,000, or 14 cents, on sales of $9.7 million.

Coca-Cola Consolidated

Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, Charlotte, N.C., parent of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Roanoke, reported third-quarter net income of $4.9 million, or 53 cents per share, on sales of $188.4 million, compared with year-earlier $5.7 million, or 62 cents, on sales of $182.1 million. For the nine months, income was $10.9 million, or $1.17 per share, on sales of $552.9 million, compared with $13.1 million, or $1.42, on sales of $530.9 million.

LADD Furniture

LADD Furniture Inc., High Point, N.C., parent of American of Martinsville, reported third-quarter net earnings of $2.2 million, or 10 cents per share, on sales of $153.2 million, compared with year-earlier $431,000, or 2 cents, on sales of $127.3 million. For the nine months, earnings were $6.6 million, or 29 cents per share, on sales of $445.4 million, compared with $4.5 million, or 20 cents, on sales of $397.3 million.
