REPORTED EARNINGS

Intermet Corp.

Intermet Corp., Atlanta parent of Lynchburg Foundry Co. in Radford, reported third-quarter net income of $373,000, or 2 cents per share, on sales of $120.9 million, compared with a year-earlier net loss of $21.3 million, equal to 87 cents per share, on sales of $92.7 million. For the nine months, net income was $4.5 million, or 18 cents, on sales of $364.5 million, compared with a loss of $19.3 million, equal to 79 cents, on sales of $338.1 million.

Lawyers Title Corp.

Lawyers Title Corp., parent of Richmond-based Lawyers Title Insurance Corp. with operations in Roanoke and Salem, reported third-quarter net income of $2 million, or 23 cents per share, on revenues of $116.9 million, compared with year-earlier $11.3 million, or $1.68 per share, on $128 million. For the nine months, net income was $4.9 million, or 58 cents per share, on revenues of $379.7 million, compared with $16.8 million, or $2.57 per share, on $350.7 million.

United Dominion REIT

United Dominion Realty Trust Inc., Richmond owner of apartments and industrial property in Roanoke and Salem, reported third-quarter net income of $5.9 million, or 12 cents per share, on rental income of $39.5 million, compared with year-earlier $7.3 million, or 7 cents, on revenues of $22.7 million. For the nine months, net income was $13.4 million, or 30 cents, on revenues of $95.9 million, compared with $7.8 million, or 21 cents, on revenues of $64.6 million.

WLR Foods

WLR Foods Inc., Broadway poultry processor and parent of Cassco Ice & Cold Storage in Roanoke, reported first-quarter net earnings of $6.5 million, or 57 cents per share, on sales of $210.3 million, compared with year-earlier $3.8 million, or 35 cents, on sales of $179 million.
