FORT CHISWELL BREAKS PAST GRAYSON CO.

Kevin King's 1-yard touchdown run with 5 minutes and 55 seconds remaining snapped a 15-15 tie as Fort Chiswell remained unbeaten in the Mountain Empire District on Friday with a 22-15 victory over Grayson County.

The Blue Devils (2-6, 0-4) twice came from behind on touchdown runs of 62 and 36 yards by Chad Shaffner. The game opened with an 81-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Ernest Viars of Fort Chiswell (4-4, 2-0).

DRY FORK - Senior tailback Cliff Wimbush rushed for 257 yards on 22 carries to lead the Bengals (5-3 overall, 4-3 Piedmont District).

Wimbush had touchdown runs of 76, 61 and 44 yards, the last of which put Bassett ahead 20-6 with 44 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

Chris Martin scored two touchdowns, the second on an 83-yard punt return, for Tunstall (4-4, 3-4).
