SUPERVISORS TAKE NEW APPROACH TO LANDFILL

The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors took at least one firm step into the future Saturday when it unveiled a new, regional solution to handling trash.

The county has proposed joining Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Virginia Tech to create a new regional trash authority that would seek to join the New River Resource Authority - made up of Radford, Pulaski County and the town of Dublin and Pulaski - in its plans for a major regional landfill in the Cloyds Mountain area of Pulaski County.
