ROANOKE VALLEY ECONOMIC INDICATORS

The number of passengers boarding planes at the Roanoke Regional Airport is running 15.3 percent ahead of last year. Through September, 276,476 passengers boarded at the airport, compared with 239,779 in September 1993.|

The airport commission's report said 32,476 passengers boarded last month, down 2.55 percent from 33,326 in August but 12.2 percent ahead of 28,942 a year earlier.|

The amount of cargo is up 22.89 percent for the first nine months of the year, 13,119.26 tons, compared with 10,675.54 tons in 1993.
