COLLEGE SPORTS

Eight Carolinas Conference schools and independents Longwood, Erskine and Queens have formed the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference.

The 11-team NCAA Division II league will begin in the fall of 1995.

In addition to the three independent schools, the eight from the Carolinas Conference include Barton, Belmont Abbey, High Point, Lees-McRae, Mount Olive, Pfeiffer, St. Andrews and Coker.
