The Literacy Volunteers of America Roanoke Valley and the Presbyterian Community Center are seeking volunteers to help in an after-school program for children in grades K-5.
The sessions are held Monday through Friday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Community Center at 1228 Jamison Ave. S.E.
Two hours of training is required for volunteers participating in the program. For more information, call Nancy Francisco at 342-1624.
30th annual Holiday House set for Saturday
The Roanoke Council of Garden Clubs will present its 30th annual Holiday House Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The event will be held at the club's office at 2713 Avenham Ave. Lunch will be available.

Cancer Society announces officers
The Roanoke Valley/Franklin Unit of the American Cancer Society recently announced the officers for the 1994-95 Board of Directors.
