Ground Round Restaurants

Ground Round Restaurants Inc., Boston-based chain with operations in Western Virginia, reported net income of $6.2 million, or 56 cents a share, on revenues of $244 million for its fiscal year ended Oct. 2, compared with year-earlier $5.3 million, or 48 cents a share, on revenues of $232.6 million.

Mod-U-Kraf Homes

Mod-U-Kraf Homes Inc., Rocky Mount manufacturer of modular buildings, reported third-quarter net income of $139,445, or 17 cents a share, on sales of $2.6 million, compared with year-earlier $140,812, or 21 cents a share, on sales of $2.1 million. The company declared a dividend of 3 cents a share, payable Dec. 2 to shareholders on Nov. 18.

Roanoke Gas

Roanoke Gas Co. reported net income of $1.7 million, or $1.25 per share, on revenues of $59.5 million for its fiscal year ended Sept. 30. That compares with year-earlier net income of $1.4 million, or $1.13 a share, on revenues of $57.7 million. The per-share earnings rose 10.4 percent with a 7.22 percent increase in the number of shares outstanding after adjusting for a 2-for-1 stock split.

Ruddick Corp.

Ruddick Corp., Charlotte, N.C., parent of Harris Teeter supermarkets, reported net income of $31.8 million, or $1.35 a share, on sales of $1.91 billion, for its fiscal year ended Oct. 2, compared with year-earlier $30 million, or $1.26, on $1.73 billion. Fourth-quarter net income was $8.9 million, or 38 cents a share, on sales of $491 million, compared with $5.2 million, or 22 cents, on $468 million.

Sales for Harris Teeter stores totaled $1.58 billion for the year, up 12 percent from $1.41 billion a year earlier. Same-store sales rose 7.5 percent.

Uni-Marts Inc.

Uni-Marts Inc., State College, Pa.-based chain of convenience stores, reported net earnings of $3.7 million, or 54 cents a share, on revenues of $326.6 million for its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, compared with year-earlier earnings of $3.1 million, or 46 cents, on revenues of $339.4 million. Fourth-quarter net earnings were $1.3 million, or 19 cents a share, on revenues of $85.7 million, compared to $1.2 million, or 17 cents, on revenues of $87.8 million.
