RADFORD - The Radford Chamber of Commerce recently announced its four nominees for its board of directors:

Bruce Baylock, dean of the School of Business and Economics, Radford University.

Mark Craig, marketing representative, United Cities Gas Co.

Harriet Price, certified public accountant, Price Williams Real Estate.

Dave Roederer, manager, New River Media Group.

Jack Johnson, manager of Charter Federal Savings Bank, will fill a two-year unexpired term.

BLACKSBURG - Doug and Brenda Mason of Christiansburg are the new owners of Custom Meats on Merrimac Road.

Doug Mason has 12 years experience in the meat business.

Dance studio joins chamber

BLACKSBURG - The Greater Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newest member, The Center of Dance on Draper Road in Blacksburg.

Carol Crawford Smith, formerly of the Dance Theatre of Harlem, owns the business. The facility features two studios with sprung floors specially designed for safe dancing.

Errand-running business opens

RADFORD - Errands About Town is a new business offering shopping, laundry pick-up and delivery, and general errand services.

New stables open in Radford

RADFORD - Oakwood Stables, a new business offering full stall board, pasture board, horse training and riding instruction has opened on Hazel Hollow Road.

The farm is owned by Tim and Leslie Black. The stable manager is Angela Kim Hobbs.

The farm's facilities include 28 box stalls, an indoor arena, an outdoor show ring, a lighted outdoor exercise ring and several large pastures.

Personnel company rewarded

BLACKSBURG - The Ford Motor Co. recognized Norrell Services, a personnel company with offices in Blacksburg and Salem, with its Q1 Award.

The award, usually given to one of Ford's parts manufacturers, recognizes excellence in meeting customers' needs and expectations.
