``Amahl and the Night Visitors'' is the story of a boy and his mother who are visited by three wise men on the way to visit the new-born Messiah. Despite their poverty, Amahl gives up his only possession for the Christ-child.
Scott Call and David Rhinesmith, members of the Montgomery County Boychoir, will alternate the role of Amahl. Opera Roanoke veterans will perform the roles of the adult cast members. Richard Cummins, Director of Music Ministries at Greene Memorial, is rehearsing the chorus.
Reservations are required. An optional dinner precedes each performance. Tickets for the opera are $12 for adults, $6 for children.
