POWER OUTAGE HITS IN FRANKLIN, HENRY

An equipment failure Saturday morning caused about 1,800 Appalachian Power Co. customers along the U.S. 220 corridor in Henry and Franklin counties to lose power for several hours.

The outage stretched from Fieldale to the Snow Creek area in Franklin County, according to Victoria Ratcliff of Apco.

Customers first lost power at 8:08 a.m., Ratcliff said, and workers had power restored to all but 50 of them by 12:30 p.m. The last customers had power by 2:15 p.m., she said.
