OPERA AUDITIONS

General Director Craig Fields will conduct regional auditions for principal and supporting roles for the 1995 and 1996 Opera Roanoke seasons Nov. 19 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Jefferson Center's second floor multipurpose room.

Upcoming operas are Puccini's ``Madame Butterfly'' and Bernstein's ``Candide'' in the 1995-96 season, and Monteverdi's ``Orfeo'' and Verdi's ``La Traviata'' for 1996-97. All operas will be performed in their original language.

Principals, supporting roles and new chorus positions will be filled by these auditions.
