SO?!!

If you read last Monday's NewsFun and discovered that the continuation of the cover story and two of the winning drawings in our annual Halloween Art Contest were missing, you should know that we were not playing a Halloween trick on you.

A production error caused an outdated version of part of the NewsFun section to be printed. The entire story about winners in the art contest and the two missing pictures were published in Tuesday's Extra section.

To all who were disappointed when they looked at last Monday's NewsFun, we're sorry. But we are grateful to all who entered the contest. Here, again are the winners: Hiliary Anne Brady, first grade, Valley Elementary School in Bath County; Whitney Ann Hawkins, fourth grade, Riner Elementary School in Montgomery County; and Laura Kolb, eighth grade at Floyd County High School.

Speaking of contests, following are winners in the McGruff Coloring Contest:

Ages 3-5: Braden Garret, Roanoke; Sidney Epperly, Christiansburg; and Deborah Jean Bleasdale, Roanoke. Ages 6-8: Sara-Elizabeth Hunt, Vinton; Gerald Ray Goad, Galax; and Andrew Bachmann, Roanoke. Ages 9-11: Audra Repass, Wytheville; Welping Yang, Blacksburg; and Phillip Wall, Roanoke. Ages 12-13: Paula Anderson, Carla Galbreath and Thomas Hicks, Roanoke. Ages 14-16: Matt Hambrick, Carissa Joy Taylor and Amanda Niles, Roanoke.
