PULASKI - The Salvation Army has dispatched an additional nine emergency mobile feeding kitchens for a total of 15 serving the flood victims and emergency personnel in East Texas. Donations can be made to The Salvation Army-Texas Flood Relief, P.O. Box 229, Pulaski, Va. 24301.
Tree-loss loans
ABINGDON - Christmas tree growers in many Virginia counties are eligible for emergency loans through the Farmers Home Administration to offset losses resulting from a late freeze in May. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and established farm operators in business at the time of the disaster. For more information, contact your local Farmers Home Administration or Virginia Cooperative Extension office.
Coat collection
BLACKSBURG - The Greater Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce is collecting unwanted coats for its second annual Give a Coat for Christmas Campaign.
A Cleaner World Drycleaners will clean and repair the coats and give them to the Montgomery County Christmas store to distribute.

Fuel assistance
BLACKSBURG - The Montgomery County Department of Social Services is accepting applications for fuel and crisis assistance. The assistance will be offered until funds are no longer available.
