Museum speaker

BLACKSBURG - Katherine C. Lee, director of the Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, will speak on the museum's diverse collection Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in The Flossie Martin Gallery, Radford University.

Disaster program

CHRISTIANSBURG - Legislation has been passed to set up a 1994 disaster program. Farmers who suffered major crop losses in 1994 due to natural disasters can apply for financial help at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office, 7 N. Franklin St.

NRCC Veterans Day

DUBLIN - In honor of Veterans Day, New River Community College Veterans office has planned special activities Friday, Nov. 11, at the college.

The program will begin with reveille and flag raising at 9 a.m. in front of Godbey Hall and continue in the court yard between Martin and Godbey Halls. A reception will follow at 10 a.m. in the T.J. Anderson student lounge.

Participates include Delegate Thomas G. Baker Jr.; Ed Barnes, New River Community College president; Garland Linkous of the 29th division Virginia Army National Guard; George Albright and Bobby Ward of the Radford branch of Vietnam Veterans of America; Monika Townley of the college's Christian Campus League; the Narrows High School Marching Band; Radford High School Concert Choir and the college's Child Care Club.

The public is welcome to attend.

ASCS elections

CHRISTIANSBURG - Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service farmer committee elections for the Blacksburg administrative area will be held this by mail in late November.

Farmers and their spouses of legal voting age who own farm land in the Blacksburg area are eligible to cast ballots.

Marrow testing

RADFORD - The Radford Chapter of the American Red Cross and the the Radford Community Hospital Auxiliary are sponsoring testing for volunteers interested in becoming a bone marrow donor. The testing will be held Friday, Nov. 11, 1-6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 12, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Norwood Professional Center, 600 Norwood St., Suite F.
