WYN YUHAS of Salem has received the 1994 Dare to Care Outstanding Supporter Award for her work in promoting the Adopt-a-Highway program, sponsored by the Virginia Department of Transportation. Yuhas, an office services specialist in VDOT's Salem office, coordinates Adopt-a-Highway volunteers in Roanoke, Botetourt and Craig counties. She was one of 10 groups or individuals receiving the award.

DAVE GORDON, vice president and general manager of Salem's Homeshopping Network Fulfillment of Virginia, has received the U.S. Postal Service's Mail Order Industry Excellence Award. He was recognized for his achievement in successfully implementing Postal Service programs at his company.

PESCO and VIRGINIA TRANSFORMER CORP., two Roanoke Valley businesses, recently participated in the International Trade Fair Assistance Program in Guadalajara, Mexico, sponsored by Appalachian Power Company's parent, American Electric Power. They were among six companies selected because their products or services best match business opportunities available in that part of Mexico.

PESCO designs and builds modular liquid chemical recovery and recycling equipment, and Virginia Transformer manufactures electric power transformers, substations and voltage regulators.
