MD. MAN IS SUSPECT IN 4 ABDUCTIONS OF CHILDREN

A construction worker charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 6-year-old Virginia boy also is a suspect in three unsolved kidnappings in Maryland where children were taken from their beds in the middle of the night.

On Wednesday, Montgomery County, Md., District Judge Louis Harrington ordered Edward Charles Wingo, 25, of Damascus, Md., held without bond.

Wingo was arrested on the kidnapping charge Sunday. On Tuesday, Wingo also was charged with three counts of first-degree sexual offense, one count of second-degree sexual offense, one count of sodomy, two counts of unnatural and perverted sex acts and one count of reckless endangerment, said Assistant State's Attorney Thomas Tamm.
