The Eagles (12-9) scored the last 10 points of the first quarter to take a 10-8 lead, then took control when Michelle Collins hit three of her four 3-pointers in the third quarter. Lori Lyons and Deanna Dickerson scored six points each in the decisive quarter.
Collins finished with 16 points, Lyons had 15 and Dickerson contributed nine rebounds for Auburn.
Heather Wilburn scored 14 points and Kelly Ratcliffe added 10 for Giles (12-9), which failed to capitalize as the Eagles missed eight of nine free throws in the fourth quarter.
Auburn will face Floyd County in the tournament final at 8 p.m. Saturday in Christiansburg.
Floyd County 74, Radford 23: Leigh-Ann Pursifull scored all 13 of her points in the first half and Carrie Chaffin also had 13 in the opening two quarters as the Buffaloes built a 34-point lead and cruised into the final of the Three Rivers District tournament.
Chaffin finished with 16 points and Sara Conner added 10 for Floyd County (22-0). Crystal Hubbard scored 13 points to lead the Bobcats.
Mountain Empire
Fort Chiswell 57, Narrows 43: At Galax, Fort Chiswell made 10 of 17 free throws in the fourth quarter to pull away from Narrows in the semifinals of the district tournament.
The Pioneers will play Galax in the tournament final at 8 p.m. Saturday. They also earn a berth to the Region C tournament next week.
Free throw shooting was the difference in the game. The Pioneers made 19 of 32 attempts, while the Green Wave converted on 13 of 33.
Amber Gunter led the charge in the fourth quarter, scoring seven of her 10 points as Fort Chiswell outscored the Green Wave 21-11.
The Pioneers also got a game-high 15 points from Jenny Porter and 10 from Trish Stuart.
Narrows was led by Suzanne Webb, who scored a team-high 12 points.
Galax 57, Rocky Gap 35: At Galax, the Maroon Tide jumped out to a 19-6 first quarter lead and went on to swamp the Eagles in a tournament semifinal game.
Tammy Cox led Galax with 12 points and Tiffany Williams pitched in 11, as the Tide ended Rocky Gap's season.
Nancy Tupper led all scorers, as she poured in 20 points in the Rocky Gap loss.
Galax will take on Fort Chiswell at home Saturday at 8 p.m. for the tournament title.
Wednesday's games
Radford 36, Shawsville 33: In Christiansburg, Crystal Hubbard scored 20 points to lead the Bobcats to their first Three Rivers District victory of the season, a tough decision over the Shawnees in the first round of the district tournament.
Liberty 63, Staunton River 46: In Lynchburg, junior Stephanie Biggs scored eight of her 10 points in the first quarter to get the Minettes off and running as Liberty flew past the Eagles in the quarterfinal round of the Seminole District tournament.
