FORD ELECTS CANADIAN WOMAN TO BOARD

Canadian economist Marie-Josee Kravis was elected a Ford Motor Co. director Thursday, becoming the second woman on the 15-member board of directors.

Kravis, 45, who specializes in public policy analysis, has been a director of Ford of Canada since November 1990. She will leave that post for the parent company board.

She is a fellow of the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank, and former director of the Hudson Institute of Canada.

Kravis will join the board Jan. 1 when Vice Chairman Allan Gilmour, 60, and former chief financial officer Stan Seneker, 63, retire and the board goes from 16 to 15 members - 12 outside directors and three insiders.
