EX-NFL GREAT WILL SPEAK ON DRUG ABUSE

Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson, one of the most flamboyant football players of the 1970s and regarded as one of the best linebackers in NFL history, will speak tonight at North Cross School in Southwest Roanoke County about substance abuse.

Henderson's appearance caps Substance Abuse Awareness Week, sponsored by Blue Ridge Community Services.

Henderson, a former Dallas Cowboy, was an admitted abuser of cocaine and alcohol. Henderson has said he put his life back together through therapy and 12-step programs.

Drug- and alcohol-free since 1982, Henderson travels the world sharing his story.

The program - free of charge and open to the public - will begin at 7 p.m. Henderson will be joined by storyteller Dylan Pritchett and poet Diane Whitney.
