"I enjoyed the opportunity for these couple of years to get back into news, which is a field I enjoy," the broadcast veteran said this week. Thomas cited "a change in emphasis" at WRAD-WRIQ for his decision to terminate the arrangement between the stations and B&B Media Inc., his one-man public relations outfit. While seeking another suitable local media opportunity, Thomas plans to continue to host the "Hudson's Huddle" sports talk show and do football color until the end of the season.
PB'S CAFE gives local writers an audio outlet Fridays, 6:30-7 p.m., on Virginia Tech's student-run WUVT (90.7 FM). Patrick Barton, the show's creator, produces the show with Adrian Parris. The program - which features "a jazzy, coffeehouse atmosphere with various types of music and writing" - provides a writers' radio showcase.
