Fire Chief James Epperly said it was a miracle, but no one was injured in the fire, which completely destroyed the Belmont home on Pepper's Ferry Road (Virginia 114).
Epperly said Shelly Carbough's son was playing with matches in the bathroom at about 10:30 a.m. when something caught fire. Carbough, the child and two others were able to escape from the house.
