BRIEFLY PUT . . .

Some of our readers apparently have wanderlust. After an editorial appeared in this space Friday about a new scenic road map of Virginia, several called to ask where to get one.

The free maps are reportedly available at Interstate Welcome Centers and 35 tourist-information centers around the state, at Virginia Department of Transportation offices or by calling VDOT in Richmond at 804-786-002.

The map is very new and demand is said to be swelling. So to avoid a wasted trip to VDOT offices in Western Virginia, it might be a good idea to call first to make sure they have a supply on hand. Happy motoring.
