TRIGON TO CUT COST OF EMPLOYEE PLANS

Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield said Monday it will reduce premiums in 1995 under the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan. The high-option coverage will be 7 percent less than this year's insurance; the standard-option policy will fall 3 percent. Standard-option family coverage will cost 42 cents more per pay period, the company said Monday.

Added to the benefits will be preventive measures such as well-child care for high and standard options and flu and pneumonia shots for all enrollees. The deadline for federal workers in Virginia to enroll in the program or to change their benefits is Dec. 12. Trigon has about 204,000 federal employees and dependents enrolled.
