OHIO STATE STUDENT CHARGED IN RAPE AT RU GREEK HOUSE

An Ohio State student has been charged with raping and sodomizing a Radford University student on the grounds of a Virginia Tech fraternity house.

Blacksburg police said the 19-year-old woman reported Sunday that she had been raped by a man she met while at a party at the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity house on Toms Creek Road on Saturday.

After an investigation, police charged Stephen Douglas Pidgeon, 19, of Columbus, Ohio, with rape and forcible sodomy.

He was jailed Sunday in lieu of $10,000 bond but was released from Montgomery County Jail Monday. A preliminary hearing is tentatively set for Dec. 8 in Blacksburg General District Court.
