BLACKSBURG - The deadline for reservations for the free community Thanksgiving dinner offered by St. Michael Lutheran Church has been extended to Friday, Nov. 18. The dinner - for people unable to provide their own or who may be alone during the holiday and want the fellowship - will be held Thanksgiving day, Thursday, Nov. 14, at the church, 2308 Merrimac Road, Blacksburg. Space is limited. Dinner will be served in two shifts, at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Adia launches food drive
BLACKSBURG - Adia Personnel Services has announced its "Thanks For Giving" food drive campaign.
Adia sent promotion details and collection bags to its clients in the New River Valley in hope of getting them to set up a food drive for their company. Adia will collect the food so that Southwest Virginia food-bank can distribute it.
