In Washington, Republicans thinking about naming a new director of the Congressional Budget Office are considering several people, including Jim Miller. Miller, a disciple of supply-side economics, was one of President Reagan's budget chiefs and recently lost a bid for the GOP Senate nomination in Virginia to Oliver North.

Graduates of the Regent University Law School in Virginia Beach had the lowest passing rate for the Virginia bar exam last summer among the six law schools in the state. The law school was founded in 1986 by religious broadcaster Pat Robertson.
