CHURCH PLANS FUND-RAISER FOR GUATEMALA PROJECT

Christ Episcopal Church in Blacksburg soon will inaugurate a sister parish relationship with a church in Guatemala. To help fund a visit in Guatemala and a project with the new sister parish, the church is holding a LATIN AMERICAN DINNER Dec. 3, 7 p.m., at the church, on Church and Jackson streets. It's $9.50 for adults and $5.25 for children 12 and under. Authentic Hispanic food, music, a pinata and a door prize drawing will be featured, and a nursery will be provided.

Christ Episcopal plans to send a delegation to the Guatemala parish late next summer. The congregation hopes the relationship can expand to include work projects, joint activities by the children and youth of both parishes, cultural exchanges and a visit to Blacksburg by members of the Guatemalan church.
