Lotus Corp. won't close Radford plant

The Lotus Biochemical Corp. operation in Radford has not closed temporarily, as a reporter incorrectly wrote in a story on Friday's Business page. The reduction in the company's work force by 16 resulted from the consolidation of Lotus, Insource Inc., and General Injectables and Vaccines Inc. A spokesman for the companies said their business is growing, and the overall reduction stemmed from management's desire to realize efficiencies made possible by consolidating operations.

Each asked for reorganization and protection from creditors, estimating both assets and liabilities at less than $50,000. They are Raider Mining Inc.
