ARLINGTON MAN IS MISSING AFTER FISHING-BOAT ACCIDENT

A search was to resume this morning for an Arlington, Va., man who was missing after a fishing boat sank in the Chesapeake Bay on Sunday, authorities said.

Wayne Eugene May, 42, was one of three people aboard a 22-foot Viking pleasure craft that sank in the mouth of the West River, said Darryl Claggett, spokesman for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

After spending 3 1/2 hours in chilly waters, the other two passengers - Claude V. Norman, 55, of Riva and James G. McAllister, 38, of Columbia - were rescued by Coast Guard crews and boaters. Both were taken to a hospital and treated for hypothermia. They were expected to be released late Sunday.

Claggett said May was not wearing a floatation device. It was unclear what caused the boat to sink.
