'ABE' IS GUEST FOR JEFFERSON MEETING

The sixth annual Jefferson Meeting will be held Dec. 5, 7:30 p.m., in the Cave Spring High School cafeteria. James Getty, an Abraham Lincoln re-enactor who has performed across the country, on television and in movies, will deliver a keynote address and participate in the event.

The meeting is modeled after Thomas Jefferson's town meetings during which citizens were invited to give their comments and opinions on the issues being discussed. After a brief point-counterpoint by advanced government students of the high school, the floor will opened to the public.

Two amendments will be discussed: terms limits and the abolition or reform of the electoral college. Both were relevant during Lincoln's time. Call 772-7550.
