FESTIVAL OF CHRISTMAS TREES: The Montgomery County Chapter of American Red Cross will host the second annual Festival of Christmas Trees at New River Valley Mall. The event will open Friday, Dec. 2 and run through Dec. 22.

Donations from the fund-raising event will go to the local American Red Cross to support such programs as disaster relief, education and preparedness, first aid and CPR courses, water safety programs, HIV-AIDS education, blood collections and service to military families.

NATIONAL HOME HEALTH WEEK: Housecall Healthcare will host the home health celebration Friday, Dec. 2, 1-4 p.m., Warm Hearth Village Activity Center, Blacksburg.

The public is welcome to come out and see the latest in home health equipment available, get a free blood pressure screening and participate in answer and question sessions. Housecall Health Care, Advanced Health-Care Services and Home Pharmacy will have on site displays.

"MOCKTAILS AND APPETIZERS FOR THE HOLIDAYS:" Monday, Dec. 5, 6:30 p.m., Starlight Dining Room, St. Albans Psychiatric Hospital, Radford. A special cooking demonstration for people with heart diseases or who have experienced a heart attack, bypass surgery or angioplasty. Sponsored by Enlightened Hearts, a Radford Community Hospital support group.

The cost of the demonstration is $5 and registration is required by Nov. 30.
