CHRISTIANSBURG - The Virginia Department of Transportation seeks 15 volunteers to form a "Smart Road" Citizens Advisory Committee.
Volunteers must be residents of the New River or Roanoke valleys and be willing to meet regularly.
Committee members will provide input on current issues in the project's development and on issues that arise in the future.

Library honored
CHRISTIANSBURG - The Virginia Library Association recognized Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library at a conference in Williamsburg for its program providing instructional classes and free access to the National Information Infrastructure through the Blacksburg Electronic Village.
Steve Helm, staff computer specialist, expained the program to the group as well as what information is available and what equipment is needed to provide access.
