ROANOKE VALLEY ECONOMIC INDICATORS

New-car dealers in the Roanoke Valley saw sales decline last month, but new auto registrations for the first 10 months still are ahead of last year. The Virginia Automobile Dealers Association reported 326 cars registered last month by valley dealers, off 2.5 percent from 639 in September and 27.9 percent from 865 in October 1993.

In the first 10 months of this year, 7,833 cars were registered by valley dealers compared to 6,278 last year, a jump of 24.7 percent.
