Garrett Sheldon's book was published in this country by Johns Hopkins University Press in 1991. It will be the first English-language book on Jefferson to be translated and published in Russia.
``I'm really excited and honored to have my book on Jefferson's political thought published there,'' Sheldon said.
It is not the book's first international exposure. The U.S. Information Agency published it in India a few years ago. In 1993, it was the text of the Jefferson Symposium at Oxford University in England.
Sheldon, who lives in Big Stone Gap, has taught at Clinch Valley for 12 years, since earning his doctorate from Rutgers University. He is professor of political science and chairman of the Department of Social Sciences.
