3 ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES AT RINK

Three men were arrested on drug-related charges after Christiansburg and Montgomery County authorities broke up a private party at a skating rink early Sunday.

The arrests were made after an officer walking through the Dominion Skate Center off Roanoke Street noticed a man with a marijuana pipe, police said. The officer confiscated the pipe and searched the man, said Christiansburg Sgt. M.J. Cox.

The Montgomery County K-9 unit was called to assist. Deputy Dale Hall and his drug dog, Aces, made a sweep of the parking lot, where the dog keyed on two cars, according to a county Sheriff's Office report.

Charged were:

Norris Elroy Bramlett II, 20, of Roanoke, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Bramlett was charged with the felony after police found several bags of what appeared to be marijuana that had been broken down into smaller bags, Cox said.

Robert Monroe Burch, 27, of Roanoke, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a concealed weapon. During a search of a car, a switchblade knife was found in a duffel bag identified as belonging to Burch, Montgomery County authorities said.

Vincent Joseph Repede, 19, of Bent Mountain, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

Police did not say what the controlled substances allegedly found in Burch and Repede's possession were. The substances have been sent to a state laboratory for analysis.

The arrests occurred without incident, police said. The Virginia State Police assisted with the arrests.
