BEINKAMPER, Jack Richard, 68, of Memphis, Tenn., died Tuesday, November 22, 1994 in a Memphis, Tenn. hospital. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Navy and the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the masonic lodge and a shriner. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Peggy Geary of Memphis, Tenn.; two cousins, Frank Beinkamper of D ayton, Ohio, Eleanor Sutphin of Radford; also four nieces; two nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford, with the Rev. Clarence Dishman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Devilbiss Funeral Home prior to the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, an expression of sympathy may be made in the form of a donation to the Shriners. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford is in charge of arrangements

CARTER, Russell (``Curtis""), 61, of Swartz Creek, Michigan, and formerly of Pembroke, Va., died Tuesday, November 23, 1994 in a Swartz Creek hospital. Born in Pembroke, he was a son of the late Henry T. and Allean Neice Carter. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from General Motors Co. in Flint, Michigan. Surviving are three daughters and two grandchildren, all of Swartz Creek, Michigan; five sisters, Jewell Habbernigg of Hoges Chapel, Va., Alberta Williams, Pembroke, Katherine Duncan, Newport, Dorothy Rasnick, Princeton, W. Va. and Virginia Collins, Baltimore, Md. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 26, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Swartz Funeral Home in Flint, MI., with burial following in Swartz Creek, Michigan.

DICKERT, Christine Frances Boling, 51, of 7114 Forest Hill Dr, Denver, N.C., died Wednesday, November 23, 1994, at Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C. She was a graduate of Parker High School, Greenville, S.C., class of 1961. Survivors include her husband, Eugene Dickert; three sons, Jerry Dickert, Denver, N.C., Jim Dickert, Roanoke, Rob Dickert, Blacksburg; one daughter, Mrs. Pam Chitwood, Roanoke; her parents, Marvin and Ruby B. Boling, Greenville, S.C.; one brothers, Carter Boling, Denver, N.C.; one grandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 1994 at 11 a.m. in Almond, Raymer and McConnell Funeral Home, Huntersville, N.C. HALEY, Edna Pauline Martin, 73, of Radford, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 1994 at Community Hospital in Roanoke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Everett Haley. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Bishop of Radford; two nieces, Mrs. Reba Shadler of Roanoke and Ms. Wanda Martin of Radford; one nephew, Mr. Tom Martin of Richmond. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 26, 1994, at 1 p.m. in Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, with Mr. Richard Waller officiating. Interment will follow in the Haley Cemetery in Pulaski County, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

HESS, Howard Kendrick, 84, of Roanoke, died Thursday, November 24, 1994 in Roanoke. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Patsel Hess. He served in the U. S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was retired from the VA Hospital and was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Salem, where he was a Sunday School teacher. He is survived by nieces, Sherry and Shelia Cole, both of Roanoke. Also surviving are a niece and husband, Dorothy P. and Robert L. Hartman Sr.; great-nephews and wives, Robert L. Jr. and Judy Hartman, Stephen M. and Sandra Hartman, Thomas Lee Hartman, and Benjamin and Karen Hartman, all of Roanoke; great-great-nephew, Michael W. Washburn and great-great-nieces, Kimberly and Kristen Hartman; and sister-in-law, Louise G. Patsel. Funeral services will be at Oakey's North Chapel, 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Robin L. Colwell officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakey's North Chapel.

HOLLAND, Robert Michael, 44, of Blue Ridge, died Wednesday, November 23, 1994 in a local hospital. Surviving are his fiancee, Darlene McDowell, Roanoke; father and stepmother, Robert C. and Loretta W. Holland, Rocky Mount, N.C.; three sisters, Theresa H. Turner, Rocky Mount, N.C., Marcia H. Phillips, Gastonia, N.C., and Pamela H. Casper, Greenville, N.C.; brother, Mark Holland, Raleigh, N.C. A memorial service will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 12 noon Friday, November 25, 1994, with the Rev. Jeff Crabtree officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.

LORTON, William D. Jr., 79, of Radford, died at his residence Tuesday, November 22, 1994. Mr. Lorton, a Radford Native, was Chief of Police of the City of Radford until his retirement in 1975. He was engaged in law enforcement for 28 years. He was a graduate of the F. B. I. National Academy, Past Presient of the National F. B. I. Academy Associates of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Past President of the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police. He served as director of the first New River Valley Regional Police Academy at New River Community College. He was a 45 year member of the Virginia May Masonic Lodge #38 A. F. & A. M., and Past President of the Radford Montgomery Shrine Club. He was also a member of the First Christian Church in Radford. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Rotenberry Lorton; a daughter, Lois Horton; a grandson, David Horton and a granddaughter, Beth Stephens and grandson-in-law, Scott Stephens, and a brother-in-law, Jerry S. Lovern. Also survived by two nieces. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. November 25, 1994 at the First Christian Church in Radford with Dr. Gina Rhea officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. Pallbearers will be Phil Cochran, Don Cole, Gary Harman, Johnny Butler, Jim Sasser, Jim Lawson, Jerry Hendricks, Paul Tickle. MAYS, Blanche King, 97, of Radford, Virginia and formerly of Baltimore, Md. died early Wednesday, November 23, 1994, in the Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Blacksburg, Virginia. She was born March 6, 1897, in Pulaski County and was the daughter of the late William J. King and Mary Elizabeth Hurst King. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Mays and by one daughter, Thelma Bliche and by one son, Robert Mays. Surviving are two sisters, Mildred Miller, Akron, Ohio, Ethel (Pollye) Hardy, Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Saturday evening, November 26, 1994 at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va. where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. A private graveside service will be held Monday, November 28, 1994, at the Garden of Faith Cemetery, Baltimore, Md. MOORMAN, Mary Lizzle, 86, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, November 21, 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Moorman. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Sterling and Helen Moorman, and Clyde Lynch all of Roanoke; two sisters, Estelle Bishop, Buffalo, N.Y. and Clara Martin, Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, Sterling Jr., William, Gerry, and Dietria Moorman all of Roanoke; one great-grandchildren, Tasha Nicole Nicholas, Roanoke; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday 2 p.m. at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. Rev. Antonio Thomas will officiate, with interment in Williams Memorial Park. PATE, Inez, of Woodland Hills, Calif., passed away Wednesday, November 23, 1994. She is survived by her granddaughter, Arletha Williams and husband, Otis Williams of the Temptations; grandsons, Zeek and Norris Henderson of L.A., California; great-granddaughter, Arlanda Carter; niece, Marzetta W. ST. CLAIR, Buford L., 58, of 1935 S. Conway Rd., Orlando, Fla. died Wednesday, November 23, 1994. He was born in Vinton, Va. and in 1986 moved to Orlando, Fla. He was a self employed carpenter and was in the Army with the 82nd Airborne Division; a member of First Assembly of God of Orlando. Survivors are wife, Brenda M. St. Clair, Orlando, Fla; two daughters, Lesa M. St. Clair, Fairfield, Conn., Patricia A. St. Clair of Costa Mesa, Calif.; one son, David Lee St. Clair of Roanoke; two stepsons, David and Shawn both of Virginia; three sisters, Norma Jean Wallace of Roanoke, Va.; Ruby Wilson, Moneta, Va., Mavis Funk, Brewster, New York; one brother , Paul St. Clair of Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren.
