BANKRUPTCIES

Two bankruptcies with business affiliations have been filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Western Virginia at Roanoke.

Valley River Mining Inc. of Richlands filed for reorganization and protection from creditors. Roy Shelton, the company's president, reported assets totaled $308,678 and liabilities totaled $877,428.

Brian Stephen Proctor of Roanoke filed for liquidation, listing assets of $6,258 and liabilities of $27,653. He operates a pavement sealing business as BP Sealing.
