NEW YORK - USAir and its pilots' union have made no progress on details of what workers will get in return for hundreds of millions of dollars in labor savings, the union said Friday.
The Air Line Pilots Association released a message to members that USAir has increased the annual labor cost savings it is seeking from the $500 million it specified earlier.
A spokesman for the Arlington, Va.-based airline said it has been consistent in its position.
The two sides have agreed to reach a new contract by mid-December.

CSX to help advise China on railroads
CSX Corp., Richmond-based transportation and real estate company with rail operations in Western Virginia, said it will join Union Pacific in advising China on technology, productivity, profitability and customer service. The two U.S. companies have been discussing the idea since last year with the Chinese Ministry of Railways. A Union Pacific spokesman says the railroads are not being paid for the venture.
