Playmakers and Co. is holding auditions for its next production, ``The Foreigner,'' Jan. 16-17, 7 p.m., at the Playmakers' Playhouse, University Mall, Blacksburg.
There are roles for four men, two women, and one male, 13-18. The auditions will be ``cold readings''; script will be provided.
Performance dates for this family comedy will be March 17-19, 23-26, 30-31, and April 1-2.

Christmas benefit
The Oaks Bed and Breakfast in Christiansburg is hosting a benefit for The Christmas Store on Dec. 11.
Guests will be served tea and sherry before dining at the Ipanema Restaurant, then returning to The Oaks for caroling and an overnight stay, followed by a three-course candlelight breakfast.
All proceeds will go directly to The Christmas Store, a non-profit organization providing extra help at Christmas to needy area families. Last year, 1,250 families received assistance.
The Oaks, a Victorian mansion listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is currently featured in the PBS television series ``Inn Country U.S.A.''
