DUBLIN WOMAN KILLED IN CRASH

A Dublin woman was killed Saturday afternoon when she was thrown through the windshield of a vehicle on Peppers Ferry Road in Montgomery County.

Dorothy Clark Simpson, 60, was a passenger in a four-wheel drive vehicle driven by her daughter, Donna Simpson Thomas, 34. Thomas' vehicle swerved into the path of an oncoming car just west of Christiansburg at about 3 p.m., according to a state police report.

The cars collided head-on, and the car Simpson was riding in overturned, the report said. Simpson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.

Thomas and the driver of the other vehicle, Jennifer Ann McDonald, 20, of Elliston, were admitted to Montgomery Regional Hospital. Thomas' son, Joshua, 6, was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital and was listed in stable condition Saturday night.

No charges have been filed.
