The Monarchs (1-1) led 36-25 with 3:24 left in the first half before Jones hit a free throw to spark an 11-0 run that extended it to 47-25.
Towson State (0-1), which trailed 47-27 at the break, shot 43 percent in the second half compared with 29 percent in the first, but Old Dominion never let up. The Monarchs led by 89-66 with 2:19 left.
Jones was 7-for-11 from the field, including 4-of-6 on 3-pointers. Old Dominion also got 13 points from Odell Hodge and 11 points from Mario Mullen.

RICHMOND - Andre King and Corey Best scored 16 points apiece, and the Camels used runs in each half to roll to victory over the Spiders.
The Camels (1-0) hit 10 consecutive field goals in a 22-9 first-half surge that gave them a 26-13 lead with 10:01 remaining. Salaam Hall led the run with a pair of 3-pointers.
The Camels stretched it to 18 before settling for a 41-25 edge after a first half in which they hit 19 of 30 shots.
The Spiders (0-1) cut it to 11 when Jason McKinney's follow shot made it 53-42 with 12:45 remaining. But Campbell scored 25 of the next 34 points.

FAIRFAX - Riley Trone's 3-pointer with 25 seconds left to play lifted the Patriots to victory over Charleston Southern.
After falling behind by 12 points with 10:55 remaining, the Patriots fought their way back, taking an 84-83 lead with 4:57 left to play
The Buccaneers took a 95-94 lead on a basket by Eric Burks with 1:27 remaining, before Trone came down to hit the game-winning shot.
Kevin Ward led a balanced George Mason scoring attack with 17 points.

PITTSBURGH - Junior forward Cam Dyer had 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Generals to victory over SUNY-Oswego in the first round of the Carnegie Mellon Thanksgiving Classic.
The Generals (2-1) will play the winner of the Carnegie Mellon-Alma game today at 3 p.m.
W&L scored the first 11 points, but the Lakers (0-2) rallied to cut the lead to 33-31 with 3:32 left in the first half. The Generals went on a 7-2 run to take a 40-33 lead into halftime.
W&L dominated in the second half, stretching the lead to 29 points at one time. Senior center Mark Connelly scored 10 points for the Generals.

William and Mary 76
BALTIMORE - B.J. Pendleton scored 21 points and Darius Johnson came off the bench to contribute 16 as Loyola, Md., defeated the Tribe.
The score was tied with 3:23 left when the Greyhounds went on an 11-4 run to ice the win. Loyola hit 7 of 10 free throws down the stretch, including four in the final 38 seconds.
Kurt Small led William and Mary with 24 points and eight rebounds, and Christopher Horne came off the bench to score 10 points and grab a game-high 11 rebounds.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. - John Breedlove scored 29 points, but the Panthers fell in the first round of the Maryville College Invitational. Freshman Marcus Toney added 15 points for Ferrum (1-2), which led 42-38 at halftime.
Mount Union (3-0) was led by Neal Richards' 20 points while Jason Currence had 16 points and 20 rebounds.
Ferrum plays in today's consolation game against Tusculum (Tenn.), a 98-57 loser to Maryville.

Montreat-Anderson 66
LYNCHBURG - Kevin Benton scored 22 points and the Flames withstood a late 3-point barrage for a victory over Montreat-Anderson.
Benton scored the Flames' last six points at the free-throw line in the final 58 seconds. His two foul shots with 58 seconds left made it 68-58.
But Montreat-Anderson (0-4) got back-to-back 3-pointers from Jason Baker to cut it to 70-66 with 15 seconds remaining.
Other games
Cavalier Christian College Classic: In Daleville, Baptist Bible College (Pa.) beat Warner Southern College (Fl.) 98-75 to claim the tournament championship at Lord Botetourt High School. Jason Penley, a sophomore from Willis, Michigan who scored 28 points yesterday against Mount Vernon of Ohio, was named the tournament's most valuable player.
In the consolation game, Mount Vernon beat Warren Wilson (N.C.) 112-55.
Christopher Newport 112, Berea 100,OT: At Newport News, Tracy Stith scored four points to cap a 9-0 run in overtime and the Captains defeated Berea in the championship of the Christopher Newport Invitational.
Berea (2-1) sent the game into overtime when Tony Goatley hit a 3-pointer with four seconds left, tying the score at 94.
Jo-Jo Chambers led Christopher Newport (3-1) with 36 points.
Johnson C. Smith 85, Virginia St. 83: At Ettrick, Tyrone Satterfield made a layup with one second left to give Johnson C. Smith a victory over Virginia State.
Johnson C. Smith's Melvin Abrams matched Satterfield's 26 points. Douglas Hines led Virginia State with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
