THE LION KING

Today we begin the Disney holiday story, ``Simba's Winter Festival,'' a comic strip based on last spring's animated hit, ``The Lion King.'' This is a brand-new adventure story about the lion cub Simba, and it is told in 24 panels.

The Winter Solstice is approaching. It is a special day because all creatures, both predators and prey, put aside their differences and come together for a big celebration. It is also special because King Mufasa decides he can entrust his young heir, Simba, with a great responsibility: He is to prepare the site for the festival. Scar is jealous. He knows Simba will be king one day, and he is determined to discredit the young cub. He plans to ruin the celebration and prove Simba incompetent. See Page 3.
