TEACHER OF THE WEEK

"I'm just a kid in a big person's clothing," says fifth-grade teacher Beverley Hall. "And the kids know it."

Perhaps that's why Hall has such a good time teaching her Roanoke County class. "We do have fun. We laugh a lot, they do and I do, too," she said.

Hall, who says her pupils never know when she might break into a song and dance to drive home a point, has taught for 21 years. She says she's a perfect match for fifth-graders.

"They know everything, but they still like their teacher. I see a lot of humor in them," she said.

"She makes learning fun and interesting for all her students. She knows just how to make anyone understand any subject," said the pupils who nominated her.

Hall, who lives with a bunny named Cuddles, enjoys painting and "occasional exercise." She loves to spend time with her nephew, Bill, 3, and looks forward to the birth of another niece or nephew next year.
