CARBAUGH, Fred William, 83, of Eggleston, died Sunday, November 27, 1994. Born in Eggleston, he was a son of the late Charles William and Sarah Virginia Burton Carbaugh. His Christian Faith was fulfilled as a member of the Eggleston United Methodist Church and he was retired from a long life of service with the N&W Railway. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Alice; and a son, Charles Walter. He also operated Carbaughs Store in Eggleston, and was the areas A NO. 1 Fisherman. Surviving are five sons, Robert ``Bobby"" Carbaugh of Pembroke, Fred Lynwood ``Woody"" Carbaugh of Eggleston, Billy Eugene Carbaugh of Eggleston, James Matthew ``Mac"" Carbaugh of Eggleston and Clayton Leon Carbaugh of Pembroke; three brothers, Elliott Carbaugh of Baileysville, W. Va.; Oakley Carbaugh of Narrows, and Frank Carbaugh of Eggleston; one sister, Isabell Strupe of Blacksburg; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, Va. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.

CARTER, Leroy, 77, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, November 28,1994. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.

CHRISMAN, George Allen, 90, of Christiansburg, died Monday, November 28, 1994 in the Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a long-time employee of the Bank of Christiansburg. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday from St. Paul United Methodist Church, with burial in Sunset Cemetery. Further arrangements are pending at Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.

CONLAN, Mr. James T., 73, of Roanoke, died suddenly on Sunday, November 27, 1994, at the home of his son, Randy A. Conlan in Damascus, Md. He was the husband of Maryanne U. Conlan. Mr. Conlan was a retired plummer. He was a member of the Moose Club in Roanoke, the Roanoke Valley Radio Control Club and ACEDC Model Aeronautics Club. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving besides his wife are five children, Florence Stowers, West Point, Calif., Linda L. Forsythe, Davie, Fla., James B. Conlan, Berryville, Va., Dale A. Conlan, Kensington, Md. and Randy A. Conlan, Damascus, Md.; one brother, Bernard Lee Conlan, Downey, Calif.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 1994, at the Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Rd., Damascus, Md. Interment will be private. COX, Charles Vincent Jr., 46, of Rt. 2, Galax, died Saturday, November 26, 1994, in Carroll County. He is survived by his wife, Tonnia J. Cox, Galax; son, Charles Travis Cox, Elk Creek; daughter, Samatha Victoria Cox, Galax; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles V. Cox Sr., Galax. He was preceded in death by one son, Joshua Eli Cox. GREENE, Edward Thomas, 78, of Buena Vista, died Monday, November 28,1994, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. He was born March 1, 1916 in West Virginia, son of the late Virgil Layton Greene and Catherine Hanifan Greene. He was preceded in death by a grandson, William Keith Slough. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lexington. Mr. Greene retired from Va. Power Co. after 23 years service. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Surviving are his wife, Mary Weakly Greene; one daughter, Mary Jo-Ann Greene Slough, Buena Vista; three grandsons, Richard Thomas Slough, Buena Vista, David Michael Slough, Rockbridge Baths, and Daniel Eugene Slough, Buena Vista; one sister, Ila Frances Greene, Buena Vista; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at bolling, Grose & Lotts Funer al Chapel, with Father Biber Officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. HOLLOWAY, Jacqueline Levoria Webb, departed this life on November 27, 1994, in Christia nsburg. Born to James T. Webb and Adean Foy Webb on May 4, 1942, she was the second of nine children. She leaves behind to cherish her fond memories, both parents, a husband, Lionel Holloway; six children, Greg Webb, Adean, Theodora, Shane, Dawn and Jimmy Holloway; one grandchild, Brittany Smith; five brothers, James, Freddrick, Carlos, Ishmal and Thomas Webb; three sisters, Cassandra Pridgen, Katie Covington, Lena Norris. She is also survived by a multitude of relatives and loved ones. Cookie, as we all knew her, was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to those of us who were blessed with her presence. She could always find humor in adversity, and fill your heart with laughter in times of tribulation. Her love touched so many people in so many ways. She was a comforter to some and a source of strength to others. Although her years were few, her experiences were many. She suffered many years with a progressive illness. These experiences help fashion the loving person she was. She led us all to believe, that there was always a better place awaiting her, and through the grace of God she has found it. Our Lord has taken her home to be with him, she will dine with him throughout eternity, and set a place for us to follow. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 2, at the Belview United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Larry Mann and the Rev. Lee Ramsey with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The body will be taken to the Belview Church after 4 p.m. Thursday, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening. JORDAN, Dorothy Mae, 33, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, November 26, 1994. Survivors include her daughter, Fatima Jordan, Roanoke; mother, Nancy Jordan, Goodview; five brothers, James L. (Bonnie) Jordan, Roanoke, Sammy J., Thomas G., Melvin J., and Randy Jordan, all of Goodview; three sisters, Nancy L. (Leroy) Nellum, Bedford, Linda D. Jordan, Goodview and JoAnn E. KASEY, George Lewis, 85, of Vinton, died Sunday, November 27, 1994, in a local hospital. He was a member of Vinton Baptist Church and a retired employee of Burlington Industries with 33 years service. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Irene B. Kasey; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Bill Dixon, Roanoke, Helen and Charles West, Vinton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa W. and J. B. McGHEE, Juanita Pankey , 58, of Roanoke, went peacefully to be with her Savior, Saturday, November 26, 1994 at 3 p.m. at her home, with her family and loved ones at her side. Born in Ringgold, Va., she was the daughter of Minnie Walker Pankey and the late James W. Pankey. She was preceded in death by a brother, James B. Pankey Jr.. She was an employee of General Electric, in Salem, for 25 years. She leaves to rejoice in her loving memory, her husband of forty years, George R. McGhee Jr.; three daughters, Barbara M. PHILIPPS, J. Timothy, 54, of Lexington, died Sunday, November 27, 1994, at his home. Born March 20, 1940, in Wheeling, W. Va., He was the son of Adelaide Philipps of Glen Dale, W. Va.. and the late Edwin Philipps. Mr. Philipps was a Professor of Law at Washington & Lee University School of Law. A member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and was a member of the Virginia State Bar. He was a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit College, Georgetown Law School and received an L.L.M. from Harvard Law School. Surviving beside his mother are his wife, Sandra Philipps, Lexington; two daughters, Ce celia Philipps, Richmond, Melissa Philipps, Richmond; two brothers, E. Patrick Philipps, Glen Dale, W. Va., Dennis M. Philipps, Glen Dale, W. Va.; one sister, Mary Stoy, Washington, Pa.; several nieces and nephews. She was born in Buena Vista, November 22, 1921, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Mary Staton Shaw. Surviving are her husband, Ernest Turner; two daughters, Mary Frances Turner, Sarasota, Fla., Sherlin Turner, Annandale; four sons, James D. Thomas Jr., Falls Church, Robert M. WALTZ, Agnes F., 62, of Roanoke, died Monday, November 28, 1994, in local nursing home. Mrs. Waltz was former employee of South Roanoke Nursing Home. Surviving are two sons, Thomas M. Waltz, Roanoke County, Christopher B. Waltz, San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Ernest M. Fawcett, Pleasanton, Calif.; four grandchildren. Her remains will be cremated. WHITE, Hannah Young, 64, of Roanoke, died Friday, November 25, 1994, in Kings Brook Hospital, Brooklyn, N. Y. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis White and a sister, Mary Y. Brown. She was educated in the Roanoke City Schools and graduated from Nashville College, Nashville, Tenn. She worked for 18 years as Secretary in the U. S. Navy Dept., Washington, D.C. She had to take an early retirement, due to health reasons. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Delores McNeil, Brooklyn, N. Y.; brother, William M. (Mary) Young, Roanoke; two nieces, Yvonne Danforth, Brooklyn, N.Y. and Tonya Young, Roanoke; two nephews, Al Herbert, Sickleville, N.J., Melvin Brown, Brooklyn, N.Y.; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Friday December 2, 1994, 7 p.m., at Fizer Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Edward T. Burton will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. WRIGHT, Sadie Greer, 86, of Floyd, passed away at her daughter's home in Christiansburg, on Monday, November 28, 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moyer W. Wright and grandson, Phillip G. Wright. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas ``Jimmy"" and Margie B.
