CHRISTIANSBURG - The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors seeks applicants for appointments to the Planning Commission, the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Office on Youth Advisory Board, and the Comprehensive Services Act for At Risk Youth and Family Community Policy and Management Team.

Smithfield Christmas

BLACKSBURG - The Docent Guild of the Montgomery County Branch of the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities will sponsor a Colonial Christmas celebration Thursday through Sunday at Smithfield Plantation.

Tours will be given by costumed docents Saturday and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. The Smithfield Plantation gift shop, greenery sale and Susanna's Tea Shop will be open Thursday through Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

Tours are $4 per person or $8 per family. Tea is $5.
